The History of Snow White

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a story that existed in many versions in the centuries preceding Disney.

The Story of Snow White

Snow White, pursued by a jealous queen, hides with the Dwarfs and the queen feeds her a poison apple but Prince Charming awakens her with a kiss.

Main Characters in Snow White

• Snow White

is a young princess.

• The Queen

is the stepmother of Snow White.

• Doc

is the leader of the seven dwarves. He wears glasses and often mixes up his words.

• Grumpy

disapproves of Snow White’s presence in the dwarf’s home but warns her of the threat posed by the Queen and helps her. He has the biggest nose of the dwarfs.

• Happy

is the joyous dwarf and is often laughing.

• Sleepy

is always tired.

• Bashful

is the shyest of the dwarfs and is often embarrassed.

• Sneezy

has very powerful sneezes caused by hay fever which can blow heavy items across the room.

• Dopey

is the only dwarf that does not have a beard. He is clumsy and mute.

• The Magic Mirror

appears as a green mask in clouds of smoke. The Queen asks him who is the fairest in the land.

• Humbert the Huntsman

is the Queen’s assassin who can’t bear to kill Snow White even when the Queen orders him.

• The Prince

first sees Snow White singing at her wishing well and falls in love with her voice. He later reappears to revive her.
