The History of Peter Pan

The first performance of Peter Pan was in 1904. The rights to the story were given to Great Ormond Street hospital in 1929 and, since then, the hospital has received royalties for each production.

The Story of Peter Pan

Peter Pan is about a boy who never great up. The three children of the Darling family receive a visit from Peter Pan, who, with the help of the fairy Tinkerbell, takes them on a magical flight to Never Land, where a war was ongoing between Peter’s gang of runaways and the evil Pirate Captain Hook.

  • is a boy who refuses to grow up. He can fly and has a connection to the magical realm of Never Land.

  • is a girl who befriends Peter pan.

  • is a pirate and Peter Pan’s greatest adversary.

  • is a fairy and a companion to Peter Pan. She is jealous of Wendy as she wants Peter Pan all to herself.

  • The Lost Boys
  • are a gang of boys who fell out of their prams and were not claimed by their parents so they were sent to Neverland.

  • John Darling
  • is the second youngest of the Darling children.

  • Michael Darling
  • is the youngest of the three children in the Darling family.

  • George and Mary Darling
  • are the parents of Wendy, Michael and John.

  • Nana
  • is the nurse hired by the Darlings to look after the children.

  • Smee
  • is Captain Hook’s right hand man.
